The design has been extensively researched and tested with UK hospital pharmacists, anaesthetists, and other key healthcare professionals. The packaging states all required and essential information clearly and uses additional elements such as symbols, stripes, and colour to differentiate between the products. EAN barcodes are standard on all packs.

The colour and marking schemes are consistent between boxes and ampoules of each product. Thus ampoules which have already been removed from their boxes, for example in theatre, are also clearly identifiable. Where appropriate the colour scheme recommended by the Royal College of Anaesthetists has been adopted for the packaging and labelling.
